History of Bullard

Bullard traces its heritage back to 1898 in San Francisco where Edward Dickinson Bullard supplied essential equipment to gold and copper miners. His son, E.W. Bullard, returned from World War I, and began a relentless pursuit to understand his customers and the problems they faced working in dangerous mines. In 1919, the Hard Boiled® “hard hat” was invented, giving homage to his doughboy army helmet. This innovative design and approach to problem solving represents the spirit of innovation and collaboration that forms the foundation of Bullard today.

Bullard has a rich history in solving customer problems in innovative ways, enabling these customers to have long, healthy, and productive lives. This legacy that began with the invention of the hard hat, continued through the 1930s with our supplied-air respirators and our first fire helmet, and propelled through to our powered air purifying respirators and thermal imagers. Each of these safety-focused, customer centric products have been and continue to be designed for the experts in the industries Bullard serves. Type of Bullard Helmet

1. CEN10™

The CEN10 helmet blends polycarbonate and ABS materials, which combine strength and chemical resistance for optimal protection and provides wearers with the highest level of protection and while still being incredibly lightweight.

As the most recognized piece of safety equipment on any worksite, the safety helmet is the symbol of toughness and pride. We have always focused on the safety aspect when designing a protective helmet. Today, the CEN10™ by Bullard brings style, safety, and comfort to a new level with the look that the workers love.

2. ABOVEVIEW™

Featuring a see-through visor that allows workers to see hazards overhead, the patented AboveView Full-Brim Hard Hat is designed with a wide brim for increased protection from the elements and comes equipped with accessory slots for a variety of attachments. AboveView meets ANSI/ISEA Z89.1 and CSA Z94.1, Type 1, Class E and G requirements. Bullard Aboveview™ now is Singapore Standard SS98 certified. AboveView’s sleek full-brim design and see-through visor combine for a perfect fit with a look that workers prefer.

AboveView is the only hard hat with a replaceable clear brim visor. Replacement visors are available in clear, grey, and yellow tints. The AboveView is available in all Bullard standard colors and can be customized with striping and logos.

3. CLASSIC SERIES

Bullard set the standard for head protection more than 100 years ago with the invention of the hard hat and continues its tradition today by developing head protection products that offer superior performance, comfort and value.

The Classic is all about comfort, without sacrificing safety. Featuring a comfortable six-point suspension, the Classic Series exceeds ANSI/ISEA Z89.1, Type 1, Class E & G requirements. Models C30 and C33 also meet CSA Z94.1, Type I, Class E & G requirements. Bullard Model C30 is Singapore Standard SS98 certified.

4. STANDARD SERIES

You’ll find comfort and protection with style in the Standard Series. Featuring a four-point suspension, these hats are lightweight, low profile and have a low center of gravity, providing exceptional balance. Models S51, S61, and S71 meet ANSI/ISEA Z89.1, Type I, Class E and G requirements. Model S51 meets CSA Z94.1, Type 1, Class E and G requirements. Model S62 meets ANSI/ISEA Z89.1, Type I, Class C requirements. Bullard Model S51, S61, S62, S71 now are Singapore Standard SS98 certified. Bullard Model S51 also meets China GB Standard.

5. ADVANCED SERIES

Advent is designed especially for industries such as forestry, oil and gas drilling, emergency rescue, and others where there is high risk or lateral and overhead impacts, including those resulting from falls. Advent’s revolutionary design meets or exceeds current head protection standards for ANSI/ISEA Z89.1, Type II, E and G.

6. HIGH HEAT

To meet the demands of high heat environments, Bullard produces the 911 Series of hats and caps in technologically advanced thermoplastic materials. In fact, these helmets are molded in the same grade of material used in the Bullard Wildland firefighting helmets. The 911 Series meets the ANSI/ISEA Z89.1 Type I, Class E and G standard for head protection.

8. FISRT BASE BUMP CAP

Bullard combines the style appeal of a standard cap with the safety of an inner liner to create the First Base Bump Cap that protects against minor bumps and scrapes.

9. FLEXGEN™ RATCHET SUSPENSION

Designed for Bullard industrial safety helmets, the FlexGen™ ratchet suspension offers outstanding performance with all-day comfort wear and a modern matte finish surface with a big triangle knob for a stylish look from the rear. The nape swivel pad sits gently just below the bump of the occipital bone, holding the helmet securely onto your head.

10. LITE 360

Built with the high quality, tough equipment you’ve come to expect from Bullard, the new Lite 360 allows workers to see and be seen at any time of day.
Lite 360 features a pivoting headlamp, six peripheral lights, and multiple lighting modes for worker visibility in any work environment.
